You can build an effective self-defense weapon, and just get to see how a taser works, using readily available items. A taser delivers electric shock to another object, and is most often used for self-defense.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Disposable camera
  • Simple electrical switches
  • Push-button switch
  • 2 feet of electrical wire
  • Rubber glove, such as a cleaning glove
  • Aluminum foil
  • Adhesive and soldering equipment
  1. Step 1

Remove the battery from the disposable camera.

  2. Step 2

Drain the charge from the capacitor. This can be easily accomplished by connecting the two leads with a wire to effectively ground them while the charge drains.

  3. Step 3

Fasten a wire through the capacitor's charging switch, and keep it in this position to keep the capacitor on.

  4. Step 4

Use extra wire to put the capacitor on a circuit to connect with the camera's circuit board, and wire in a switch so you can open or close the capacitor circuit.

  5. Step 5

Run the wires from the capacitor out 1 foot (long enough to reach the fingers of the glove). You can run the two wires to any two fingers, but usually index finger/middle finger or index finger/thumb combinations work best.

  6. Step 6

Attach the wires to the fingers of the glove and the camera housing to the back of the glove using adhesive.

  7. Step 7

Cover the outsides of the charge-delivering fingers with aluminum foil, and make sure the wires are making contact with the foil in order to be able to accept charge.

  8. Step 8

Make sure no wires are exposed, and secure any loose wires and parts with adhesive as necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tasers are dangerous tools, and should be used with extreme caution at all times.
