Step 1
Remove the mounting plate from the tripod by pulling back the thumb lever on the top of the tripod. The lever will usually pull out to the right, releasing the mounting plate, which can then be lifted straight up out of the top of the tripod.

Locate the threaded hole in the bottom of the binoculars. Usually it is located near the center, in the space between the lenses.

Insert the screw from the mounting plate into the threaded hole in the bottom of the binoculars.

Step 4
Turn the small handle or metal piece on the bottom of the mounting plate to turn the screw into the bottom of the binoculars. Continue turning until the plate is securely fastened to the binoculars.

Step 5
Pull back the lever on the tripod that you used to release the mounting plate.

Step 6
Slide the mounting plate into place on the tripod, making sure that it is secure on the tripod.

Step 7
Release the lever to hold the mounting plate in place.

Step 8
Wiggle the binoculars and mounting plate slightly to make sure that they are securely mounted. If not, pull the lever back and adjust the mounting plate, making sure that it is inside all of the brackets.
