Instructions

    • 1

Remove all of the loose pieces of grout from the tiled kitchen counter top. You can do this with a butter knife. Carefully remove every bit of grout crumbs and dust. If you don't get all of the remnants out, the new grout you lay will not adhere properly and will start to fail within a short period of time.

Mix the new grout according to the directions on the package. Some require more water than others, so be sure to read the instructions carefully, even if you have experience using grout.

    • 3

Use the grout float to smear the grout into the places where grout is missing. Smear more than required into the gap, and smooth it off with the grout float. Use a wet finger to smooth it and level it off with the existing grout.

Wipe excess grout off of the tile with a damp grout sponge. If the grout is disturbed, simply add more with the grout float, smear again with a wet finger, and wipe with the sponge.
