How to Make Arrows in AutoCAD
You can create custom arrows in AutoCad that can used to display linear dimensions in a drawing. Making your own arrows allows you to adjust them to fit the drawing to avoid unnecessary clutter and confusion. Once created, the arrows can be flipped, stretched, moved and rotated depending on your drafting needs.

Open AutoCAD and open a new project.

Click the "Draw" tab on the tool bar and choose "Block." Click "Make."

Type in a name for the arrowhead that you just created in the Block Definition dialogue box. Click "Select Object" and choose "Arrow." Click "Pick Point" and select the arrow point. Click "OK" to save the arrowhead and close the dialogue box.

Attach the arrowhead on a dimension line by clicking "Dimension" on the tool bar and choosing "Style." Click "New." Type in a name for the arrow in the dialogue box. Click "Continue."

Click open the arrowhead pull-down menu and choose "User Arrow." Click on the arrowhead that you created and click "OK."

Check the arrow name in the "New Dimension" box and click "Set Current." Click the "X" to close the dialogue box. You have created a new arrow.

Insert your arrow into a drawing by clicking "Dimension" and choosing "Linear." Select the horizontal dimension points and the arrows will appear in the drawing.
