Tricep pressdowns are a tried and true way to stimulate growth in your arms. This technique has been time tested and approved by top bodybuilders. There is more ways to to work out the triceps than any other body part. The pressdowns are the most common and the most effective. You will want to mix this in with your tricep routine as you want to stimulate all three heads in your triceps. You can change grips to help you stimulate growth as well. Try using the rope in one set. The next set you can switch to a small bar that is also fashioned to connect to the pressdown machine. Try three to four sets of the pressdowns and you will notice a difference in your arms almost right away.

      Locate a machine in your gym with an overhead pulley. Check for the rope attachment connected to the clip.

      Check the weight setting and adjust it to a proper level. You should be able to pull the rope down with little resistance.

      Stand in front of the rope attachment with your feet together. Grab the rope at the ends. Pull the rope with your elbows to your side.Pull it straight down until your arms are extended. Your arms will be parallel with your hips.

      Finish the movement at the bottom by flexing your tricep muscles and holding it for two to three seconds. This will ensure an adequate arm pump.

      Repeat the step by bring the rope up halfway and continue the repetition by pushing straight down and flexing at the bottom of the rep.

Tips & Warnings

  • This is one of the most adequate ways to workout your tricep muscles. This routine will usually be the last one you do. Check your weight to where you can do 8 to 10 reps to failure.
