How to Use a Wave Cap

1. Ensure that your hair does not exceed 1 inch in length.

2. Brush your hair with the soft bristle hairbrush. A wooden brush is best, as you will be able to grasp it better to apply pressure while brushing. You should brush your hair in the direction of your natural wave pattern. Typically you will brush the top of your hair forward and the sides and back downward. The directions will slightly vary, depending upon your hair. Continue brushing your hair until your natural wave pattern is highly defined, about, 10 to 15 minutes..

3. Apply wave pomade all over your hair. Start with quarter-size portions to the top, side and back of your head.

4. Brush your hair in the direction of your natural wave patterns for an additional 15 minutes. As you brush, apply a little pressure. Apply more wave pomade as needed. Adding too much wave pomade will cause your scalp to itch.

5. Apply the wave cap to your head. Be careful so that you don't mess up your wave pattern while putting on the cap. Sleep with the wave cap on your head to set your waves. Remove the cap when you are ready to reveal your waves.

6. Repeat steps three through five nightly to keep your wave pattern set and looking fresh.
