Instructions

    • 1

Place the fence posts in the ground as desired using a post-hole digger. Make sure that all the posts stand as straight and even as possible.

    • 2

String heavy grade wire along the fence-line, wrapping it around each post. Make sure to string the wiring along at least two heights along the fence-line.

    • 3

Connect the heavy grade wiring from the fence to a small bit of standard electrical wiring. Do this at the end of the fence-line where you wish to place the battery.

    • 4

Use a soldering iron to solder the electrical wiring to one side of a heavy duty on/off wiring switch. Make sure that the switch you choose is weatherproofed. Then, solder another short strip of electrical wiring to the other side.

    • 5

Making sure that the switch is in the "Off" position, connect the wiring to the posts on a car battery. Do this by simply wrapping the wiring around the posts, and twisting it together to tighten.

    • 6

To arm the fence, simply turn the switch to the "On" position. All the wiring across the fenceline will then be electrically charged.

    • 7

Cover and wrap the battery with a tarp to prevent corrosive wear on the connection ends from rain and wind.

Tips & Warnings

  • Place the battery and switch in an easily accessible location for easy maintenance.

  • Always use caution when working with live electrical ends.
