How to Install a Satellite In-Line Booster

An in-line booster can greatly improve the picture quality of your satellite programming. A booster is especially useful in setups that use a split or long lengths of coax cable. You can even maximize your signal power in extreme setups and rejuvenate your weak current with a powered booster.

Instructions

  1. Non-Splitter Setups

    • 1

Disconnect the coax cable connected to the "SAT IN" port on the back of your satellite receiver and connect an end of the other coax cable to the port.

    • 2

Couple the two cables together with the in-line booster. Screw the original cable into the one side of the booster and screw the new cable onto the other side.

    • 3

For a powered booster, plug the power plug into an outlet and switch the power on.

    In-Line Booster and Splitter

    • 4

Follow the coax cable from the "SAT IN" port on the back of your receiver to the splitter.

    • 5

Disconnect the cable connected to the main port on the splitter and connect a new piece of coax cable to the port.

    • 6

Join the free end of the new coax cable with the free end of the original cable with the in-line booster.
