How to Make Your Own Coupons for Your Parents

A coupon book is a wonderful way for a child to give a gift. They can give from the heart without going to a store. Mother's Day and Father's Day, as well as birthdays, are times when a child may want to make something special for his parents. This is a good way for a child to contribute to a celebration and use his own ideas for coupons.

• Scissors
• Pencil
• Paste
• Tape
• Stapler

Instructions

1. 

   Fold a sheet of paper in half going the length of the paper. Fold that length of paper in half going the long way. Construction paper works well for pages if you decide to paste pictures for your coupon book. It comes in different colors and is thicker than ordinary paper.

2. 

   Open up the paper to lay flat and cut paper into 4¼- by 5½-inch pieces. You now have four pages for your book.

3. Look for pictures from old magazines. If you want to make a coupon page to walk the dog, then find a picture of a dog. If the book is for your mom, then look for pictures of flowers to cut and paste. You can also draw your own pictures.

4. Paste or tape the pictures onto the coupon pages. Some coupon pages might need only a picture, but if you want to write some words, leave some space beside the picture.

5. Make some pages with some chores you can do. You may decide to keep your room clean without being told. You can also empty wastebaskets. Other ideas would be to help wash the family car, set the table, put away laundry or pull weeds.

6. Hugs and kisses coupons are always a great way to show how much you care.

   Make a pretty cover for your book and arrange all your coupons under the cover. Staple the book together and give it to your special person.
