Instructions

    • 1

Unbutton the front of the dress shirt and set it flat on the ironing board. Use an iron to remove all wrinkles from the dress shirt. Be sure to iron the front, back, sleeves, and cuffs.

    • 2

Hang the dress shirt up in a closet as soon as it is ironed and wrinkle-free. Button the shirt to prevent it from slipping off of the hanger. This will keep any new wrinkles from forming while it is stored.

    • 3

Put on a plain, white undershirt to prevent sweat stains from appearing through the dress shirt. Unbutton the dress shirt and remove it from the clothes hanger.

    • 4

Button the dress shirt from bottom to top. If you plan to wear a neck tie, button the first button at the top; otherwise, leave it unfastened.

    • 5

Tuck the hem of the dress shirt inside your pants, and then adjust the shirt for comfort. Make sure it isn't too tight or too loose, but will be comfortable for you to wear all day at work.

    • 6

Fasten the buttons on the cuffs of the dress shirt, and put on a neck tie, if desired. Look into the mirror to ensure everything looks good. Make any finishing touches, straightening edges or adjusting the tucked hem, before you wear the dress shirt to work.
