Instead of them hearing the ringing sound that is typically heard, they can hear a song of your choice. Answer tones are offered as a service to all AT&T subscribers. Its easy to purchase, download and manage your answer tones, all from your cell phone.

    1. Assigning Answer Tones

        From your phone's menu, choose Manage.

        Choose Callers.

        Pick the song that you would like to assign to a certain caller or group of callers, and then choose Callers. You can then check the callers that you would like to hear the Answer Tone.

      Assigning a Default Tone

        From the main menu, choose Manage and then choose My Answer Tones.

        Choose Change Default Tone.

        Scroll through the available Answer Tones to choose the one you'd like to change it to.

      Scheduling Answer Tones

        From the main menu, choose Manage and then choose Callers.

        Choose "Assign tone to caller" from your library of Answer Tones.

        Assign the tone to the correct caller, and then choose whether you want the tone to play during the day, at night, or always.

      Shuffling your Answer Tones

        From the main menu, choose Manage and then choose My Answer Tones.

        Choose the playlist of Answer Tones that you would like to put on shuffle.

        Choose the Shuffle option, and then assign the shuffled playlist of Answer Tones to the callers that you would like to hear them. Now your Answer Tones will shuffle randomly for each caller.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You can have up to 99 Answer Tones on your phone at any given time.
