How to Make Naruto Weapons
The Naruto anime showcases numerous different weapons used by its ninja characters. If you're gearing up for a Halloween party or cosplay show as a Naruto character, you can create makeshift weapons to go with your costumes. With cardboard, aluminum foil and some gray or silver paint, you can make safe replicas of the ninja stars, needle-loaded umbrellas and giant swords for your own Naruto-based arsenal to complete your costume.
Things You'll Need
- Toothpicks
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Silver or gray paint
- Hot glue gun
- Glue
- Aluminum foil
- Masking tape
- Umbrella

Use long, thin toothpicks, or tape two or three regular length ones together. Dip these in gray paint or wrap them in aluminum foil to make Hari needles. Attach several of these needles to the underside of an umbrella with a hot glue gun (see Resources for images of this and other Naruto weapons described here).

Create a kunai by cutting out of cardboard a knife handle as long as your palm, a diamond-shaped blade on one end and a ring at the other end. You can also put a second blade instead of the ring to make a twin-bladed kunai. Cover these knives in foil and wrap masking tape around the handle.

Make shuriken out of the cardboard and foil by cutting out small four-pointed stars with a hole in the center. Cut out one that is about 1 1/2 to 2 feet in length and width to make a dai shuriken. For a Fuuma shuriken, make the four points shaped like machete blades.

Use the same cardboard and foil to make bladed knuckles, which look like brass knuckles with a short pointed blade at one end. These are held with your fingers going through the knuckle holes and the blade pointed downward.

Construct a Kubikiri Houcho if you have the time and resources. This looks like a 9-foot high sword with a foot-thick blade and a 4-foot-long handle. A weapon like this will likely require two layers of cardboard or maybe plywood and can be painted silver.

Keep a bag of dark-colored M&M candies to use as soldier pills.
