3
Take small sections of hair from the bottom half and comb a dime-size amount of gel through it. Then, split the section into two and twist it from scalp to ends. To have looser waves, make fewer twists. For tighter waves. make more twists.

4
Add a rubber band to secure the end of the twist. Continue twisting and securing to complete the entire back section of your hair. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the top section of your hair.
-
5
Leave your hair twisted overnight to get the best possible waves. Sleep with a scarf or bandanna covering your head, so you do not mess up your twists as you sleep. You can use a blow dryer to dry the twists instead of waiting overnight.
-
6
Take your twists out in the morning. Your waves will be tight. You may leave them as they are, or you can run your fingers through them to break them up a bit.
Make sure the twists are completely dry, or hair may poof/frizz up.
