Things You'll Need:
- Fish
- Knife
- Cabbage leaves
- Red pepper
- Green onion
- Lemon juice
- Spices
- Toothpicks
- Stockpot
-
Step 1
Prepare the fish. Make a few cuts across the top of the fish with a sharp knife. Place the fish on a large cabbage leaf or two.
-
Step 2
Place finely chopped red pepper and green onion on top and then the spices that you like. Squeeze a lemon wedge over the fish.
-
Step 3
Wrap the fish up in the cabbage leaf and use toothpicks to keep it closed around the fish.
-
Step 4
Bring a large stockpot, half filled with water, to a rapid boil. Place the steamer over the pot and put on the lid.
-
Step 5
Steam for about 10 minutes. If the fish is more than 1 inch thick, add on a few minutes. Take the steamer off the pot and open. Your fish should be white and flaky, yet still moist. Serve.
