How to Make a Farmhouse Canopy Bed
Creating a canopy bed from any ordinary bed is a simple project that does not involve anything more than screwing in some hooks and measuring and cutting some fabric. There is no sewing necessary to create a canopy curtain above a bed. Does this Spark an idea?

Measure the distance between the floor and the ceiling. Measure the width and length of the bed. Write down these measurements.

Determine the amount of fabric needed based on the measurements taken in Step 1. You will need two longer lengths of fabric equal to the distance between the floor and the ceiling multiplied by 2, plus the length of the bed, plus 12 inches for draping. You will need two shorter lengths of fabric equal to the distance between the floor and the ceiling multiplied by 2, plus the width of the bed, plus 12 inches for draping.

Purchase the fabric and cut four lengths of fabric according to the measurements figured in Step 2.

Screw two screw hooks into the ceiling, directly above each of the four corners of the bed, for a total of eight rings screwed into the ceiling.

Thread one longer length of fabric through a hook at the top right corner and stretch it across to a hook at the bottom right corner. Adjust the length of fabric so that it reaches to the floor on both sides and drapes slightly between the hooks. Repeat with the other longer length of fabric in the top left corner and bottom left corner.

Thread one shorter length of fabric through the other hook at the top right corner and stretch it across to the hook at the top left corner. Adjust the length of fabric so that it reaches to the floor on both sides and drapes slightly between the hooks. Repeat with the other shorter length of fabric in the bottom right corner and bottom left corner.

Make final adjustments to the fabric to make it drape and hang evenly between the hooks and down to the floor in each corner.
