If you want to store your table saw safely, a cabinet is a great solution. Building a 4-foot cube-shaped cabinet with a door, providing plenty of room for the table saw, requires a few carpentry tools, plywood, and hardware and is an fairly easy project.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 1/2-inch-thick pieces of 4-by-8 foot high-quality smooth-finish plywood
  • Measuring tape
  • Circular saw
  • Wood stain or paint (optional)
  • Box of 20 1 1/2-inch nails
  • Hammer
  • 2 heavy-duty hinges
  • 6 to 8 5/8-inch wood screws
  • Screwdriver
  • Latch

Cutting the Pieces for your Table Saw Cabinet

  1. Step 1

Cut three 4-foot square pieces from a sheet of plywood for the top, bottom and back of the cabinet.

  2. Step 2

Cut two 3-foot 10 1/2-inch by 4-foot rectangular side pieces using another sheet of plywood.

  3. Step 3

Cut a door for the front of the cabinet from the third sheet of plywood. The door should be 3 foot 10 1/4 inches square.

  4. Step 4

Brush wood stain or paint on all pieces if you think the cabinet won't get too much wear and tear.

  5. Constructing the Cabinet

  6. Step 1

Stand two 4-foot square pieces (the top and bottom) up vertically and position them parallel to each other 4 feet apart from the outer edges. Place the other 4-foot square piece (the back) vertically on one end of them so you have three sides of a box. Attach them with nails. Leave the completed section in this position.

  7. Step 2

Place a 3-foot 10 1/2-inch by 4-foot piece between the top and bottom on the floor against the back. Attach it with nails.

  8. Step 3

Insert the other 3-foot 10 1/2-inch by 4-foot piece on the other side against the back and nail it in.

  9. Step 4

Place the cabinet on a 4-foot square piece so the back is vertical and install the door on the inside of the front. Use the two hinges and the 5/8-inch screws and attach the door to the front inside edge of the left side.

  10. Step 5

Install the latch on the right side of the door and the edge of the cabinet using 5/8-inch screws.
