A pressure washer is a powerful weapon when it comes to keeping the outside of your home clean. It quickly removes stains from cement, brick, and sidings, and leaves everything looking like new. You can save money by making your own pressure washing soap that will get most jobs around the house done and that takes minimal time to mix up. A good pressure washing soap needs to be able to remove stains while also killing any mold or algae that may be growing on the surfaces you are cleaning.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dishwashing detergent
  • Bleach
  • Household cleaner
  • Bucket
  • Paint stirrer
  1. Step 1

Combine 3/4 cup powdered dishwashing detergent with 1 quart bleach and 3/4 cup powdered household cleaner in the bucket. Add 1 gallon of water to the mix.

  2. Step 2

Stir the mixture thoroughly with the paint stirrer. Do not stir so vigorously that the mixture begins to sud, but make sure it is well mixed.

  3. Step 3

Place the soap into the tank on the pressure washer, and spray the area you are cleaning liberally. Allow to set on the area for five minutes.

  4. Step 4

Pressure wash the soap off the area with clean water. Do not leave any cleaning solution residue on the surface.

Tips & Warnings
  • For stubborn stains only use 1/2 gallon of water in the solution.
  • Do not use bleach if the solution will run off into grass or other live landscaping.
