Rose arm bouquets stand out from other flower arrangements simply because they are incredibly classy. The main ingredients of these sophisticated bouquets are at least six long-stemmed roses that lie flat in the crook of your arm. Add a couple of other eye-catching components, like dried grass and ribbon, and you'll be good to go. These make great bridal or bridesmaid bouquets or add a dash of flash to any formal event.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Six long-stemmed roses
  • Ribbon at least 3 inches wide that matches rose color
  • Small bouquet of long-stemmed dried grass
  • Floral wire
  • Floral snips
  • One safety pin and three straight pins
  • Stiff corkscrew ribbon that matches rose color
  1. Step 1

Gather your supplies. Hit the florist or your yard for six long-stemmed roses of any color you wish. Visit the craft store and check the selection of the dried grasses and flowers, selecting a small bunch of long-stemmed ting or other long-stemmed dried grass that complements your roses. Select a 12-inch-long piece of ribbon that is at least 2 to 3 inches wide and a stiff corkscrew ribbon. Make sure the dried grass and ribbons match or complement the roses. Pick up floral wire and snips while you're there.

  2. Step 2

Prepare the roses. Remove the thorns and leaves by cutting them flush at the rose stem with your snips.

  3. Step 3

Bundle your bouquet. Place the roses, grass and corkscrew ribbon in a tall dry vase. Arrange them so one side is flat where the bouquet will lie against your arm. Wind floral wire around the bouquet about 10 inches from the top.

  4. Step 4

Fine tune the bouquet. Lay the bundled bouquet in front of you, further arranging the items so the flat part has nothing sticking out to impede its lying against your arm. Snip the ends of the roses, grass and ribbon so they are all even at the bottom of the bouquet.

  5. Step 5

Finish off the bouquet. Attach a small safety pin through one end of the wide ribbon and secure it through the floral wire wrapped around the bouquet. Wind the wide ribbon around the wire to fully hide it and further secure the bouquet. Gently tuck the loose end of the wide ribbon underneath the ribbon sheath and pin in place with three straight pins stuck through the rose stems.

Tips & Warnings
  • Store your bouquet in a wide vase of water until it's ready to use to prevent wilting. Substitute silk roses for real roses if you want a bouquet that lasts.
