How To Make a Homemade Wall Lamp

Lamps lend a certain ambiance to any room. If there are unusual or homemade lamps, it creates a unique and sometimes rustic look to the room. Homemade wall lamps are quite beautiful no matter what they are made of. A wall lamp made with a mason jar creates a very unusual lamp and can be customized or decorated to fit any room decor or individual tastes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Quart canning jar-regular mouth
  • Button, bows, thread, seashells or sand
  • Hurricane lamp jar adapter
  • Light bulb
  • Hurricane lamp shade
  • Wall bracket

    Instructions

  1. Step 1
    Old Mason jar.

    Clean and polish a quart canning jar. The old green canning jars work great, but the new clear ones work just as well.

  2. Step 2
    Hurricane lamp shade.

    Fill the jar with any object that is preferable. This can be buttons, bows, potpourri, seashells or colored sand.

  3. Step 3
    Lamp adapter.

    Attach the hurricane lamp adapter to the top of the jar. The adapter has a jar lid as a base and will screw right onto the jar. Attach the bulb and then the hurricane lamp shade onto the adapter.

  4. Step 4
    Wall bracket.

    Attach the wall bracket to the wall in the desired position. Set the jar lamp in the saucer of the bracket. Plug the lamp into the wall.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a different adapter, and fill it with oil for an actual hurricane lamp.
