Rinse the sink thoroughly to remove any stuck-on dirt and debris with clean water and a soft clean cloth for more problematic spots.

Mix a solution of vinegar and water in equal parts in a spray bottle. Spray the sink and gently scrub with a soft, clean cloth.

Rinse the sink again with clean water.

Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to stubborn stains. Gently scrub the paste in with a soft, clean cloth and rinse with warm water.

My sink is dark brown. I bought 2 dark brown Rubbermaid sink liners. You cannot even tell they are in there, I also wash it with vinegar water, dry it and polish it with a cloth that I sprayed with a little Pledge.

how would someone go about removing a petroleum based stain on a granite sink? specifically a car wax that has a petroleum base. I was polishing my Moen Faucet and got some on my granite top.
