How to Mix Xylitol Stevia Inulin For a Sweetener

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol--in powdered, crystalline form--that can be extracted from fruits and vegetables including corn and raspberries. Xylitol has been shown to have little or no effect on blood sugar levels when used as a sweetener. Inulin is a fiber stored in the roots and tubers of some plants, including the Jerusalem artichoke or sunchoke, which helps to regulate blood sugar. Stevia, as a sweetener, is the dried, powdered leaves of the Stevia plant. Depending on how Stevia is processed it can be anywhere from twenty to hundreds of times sweeter than the comparable amount of sugar. It may or may not have a slightly bitter aftertaste, so use only a small bit of Stevia when you first mix your sweetener and then adjust to taste.
