Trampoline pads or safety mats cover the tight springs on the edges of the trampoline and protect the jumper from injury. You need to replace the pads when they become ripped or damaged. New trampoline pads are available to purchase, but you must take the correct measurements.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Round trampolines

  1. Step 1

Measure from the outside edge of the trampoline frame to the edge of the frame directly across from it. Write down the measurement.

  2. Step 2

Walk a quarter turn around the trampoline and take another measurement from one edge of the trampoline frame to the opposite side. Your two measurements should form an "X" on the trampoline. Write down the measurement.

  3. Step 3

Add the two measurements together and divide by two. This will give you the average diameter of your round trampoline.

  4. Rectangular or Square trampolines

  5. Step 1

Standing at the middle of one side of the trampoline, measure from the outside edge of the frame to the edge of the frame directly across from it. Write down the measurement.

  6. Step 2

Walk a quarter turn to the second side of the trampoline. Take another measurement from one edge of the frame to the opposite side.

  7. Step 3

Write down the measurement. You need both the length and the width to order a rectangular or square trampoline pad.

  8. Octagonal or Hexagonal Trampolines

  9. Step 1

Measure from the outside edge of one corner or "point" of the trampoline frame across the middle to the corner directly across from it.

  10. Step 2

Write down the measurement. You only need this measurement to order a octagonal, hexagonal or polygonal trampoline pad.

  11. Step 3

Make sure the replacement pad has the same number of sides---for example, eight sides for an octagonal trampoline---so the new pad will fit correctly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not round the measurement up or down because the trampoline pad may not fit correctly. If you cannot find a trampoline pad for the exact measurements, ask about custom ordering. Measuring for trampoline pads may be easier if someone helps hold the measuring tape.
