Winamp is a media player that allows you to play music, create play lists and separate your files by artists, albums and song titles. Supporting multi-audio formats such as MP3, AAC and WAC, including an improved iPod sync support, uploading your music files is as simple as pushing "Play."

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Download the Winamp player onto your computer following the setup and installation instructions (see link in Resources).

  2. Step 2

Plug one end of your USB cable into your iPod and the other end into a USB port on your computer. iTunes should open automatically. On the iTunes window, click "Settings." Click your iPod icon. Move to the "Options" category and remove a check on "Open iTunes when this iPod is attached." Place a check on the "Enable disk use" box. Click "Apply." This prevents iTunes from automatically loading when your iPod is plugged into your computer. When you are done, close iTunes completely.

  3. Step 3

Click "My Computer" on your desktop. Confirm that your iPod has been mounted as a hard disk.

  4. Step 4

Double click 'Winamp" icon on your Desktop to launch your program. Select "View"and click the "Media Library" if it does not open up automatically.
Select your hard drive by clicking the "Portables List" on the left column of your "Media Library." Click "iPod" to view all the files on its hard disk.

  5. Step 5

To add music to your iPod, open the "Play-list" window, then highlight the songs you want to add to your iPod. Right click, then scroll down on the new menu. Highlight "Send To" then select your iPod. The file transfer begins. On the far left, you should see the download percentage status on your iPod. Do not unplug your iPod when the music files are being downloaded.

  6. Step 6

When the files are done downloading, click the "Portables List" to refresh your iPod list. All the downloaded files show up on the "Media Library."
