Hire a company that offers on-site training. This an option for a small business that wants its associates to receive forklift training at its own facility. Some forklift companies provide training to employees of small businesses in the areas of forklift safety, operation, OSHA compliance and fire safety. Some advantages of on-site training are that you can train your employees around your schedule on equipment that is familiar to them. In many cases, you can also have the training content customized to meet your business needs. Georgia has many alternatives in the area of on-site training. Ask your local OSHA office for the name of a reputable training program.

Attend a class at a local trade school, agency, forklift rental company or other local site that provides classroom training on the operation of a forklift. One example of a Georgia school that offers forklift training is Georgia School of Construction located at 581 Sigman Rd. Northeast, Conyers, GA. Another is Komatsu Forklift USA located at 14481 Lochridge Blvd., Covington, GA, 30014. There are two benefits to attending a class. Take online training if you want to save money on training courses. Training courses are available immediately and are often more affordable than on-site programs. Online courses are also convenient. Employees can take these courses before or after work or take the courses during down-time. Beware of training centers that may not be reputable. There are a number of online training courses available, but that doesn't mean they are reputable. Always check with your local OSHA office before investing in any training program.
