How to Make a Paintball Sniper Rifle

Creating a paintball sniper rifle is not difficult, but understanding how to be a recon paintball player is the challenge. As a result of paintball guns being generally inaccurate, a scope on a paintball gun would generally be just for show. Having an accurate sight, extended barrel that places spin on the paintball, and the patients to wait for unsuspecting players is all that is required to creating a paintball sniper rifle.

• Standard Co2-powered paintball gun
• Extended barrel 14 to 22 inches
• High-quality paintballs
• Screwdriver
• Side-mounting hopper
• Tripod (optional)

1. Remove any factory barrels and hoppers attached to the standard Co2-powered paintball gun. Standard barrels are generally short and inaccurate, and hoppers often get in the way of a down the barrel sight.

2. Screw in the extended barrel, which will drastically increase the accuracy of the paintball sniper rifle. Some barrels also have corkscrew groves in the barrel to help place a spin on it, which also increases accuracy.

3. Screw in the Co2 container into the gun, and ad the side-mounted hopper onto the gun. A side-mounted hopper will either have an attachment to move the standard hopper out of the barrel line of sight or just be one piece.

4. Adjust the velocity to the course required amount. This can change for each course, so it's best to do this each time when adjusting the sight of the paintball rifle.

5. Move a distance of 200 feet between the gun and target. Fire at the target, and check to see if the sight is accurate. If the sight is inaccurate, loosen the screw, adjust it slightly, tighten it and fire again. Repeat this process until the sight is as accurate as the gun allows.

6. Find a location where you can crouch or go prone. A tripod this can make the gun a lot more steady and more accurate. As a recon paintball sniper, it's best to stay in a well-hidden position, observe and wait for the enemy to approach. When in range, the sniper paintball rifle should prove highly useful.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not purchase a scope for a paintball sniper rifle. When playing standard paintball games, there are specific standards to the velocity that a Co2 can be released, which means a scope will be worthless. High-quality paintballs are less likely to break in the barrel of the paintball sniper rifle. Tippmann and Spyder brand paintball guns are commonly more accurate.
• Purchasing items such as paintball sniper rifle kits online may mislead you into thinking the gun can shoot accurately over 1,000 feet. As a result of a lower velocity during games, it will not travel as far or as accurately. Do not purchase a sniper paintball rifle kit that costs more than $200. A decent sniper rifle kit can be made between $100 to $200 without paintballs.
