Do you want easy, beach-style wavy hair, without having to resort to heat styling and hairspray? For natural-looking, touchable waves, you can try an easy trick.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Take a shower and wash your hair. Do this at least 12 hours in advance of the event you want the hairstyle for. For example, do this the evening before, and your hair will be wavy in the morning.

  2. Step 2

After conditioning your hair, comb or brush out tangles and squeeze out excess water. Do not blow-dry your hair or let it dry too much.

  3. Step 3

French braid your hair in multiple braids. Place the part where you would like your hair to be parted in the finished style. More small braids will result in tight waves and a faster-drying style. Less braids will result in more relaxed waves, but since they are thicker, they will take longer to dry.

  4. Step 4

Allow your hair to dry overnight (or during the day if your event is at night). Allow the hair to dry completely.

  5. Step 5

If it is convenient, blast the braids with a hair dryer for a few seconds to set the waves. Wait until your hair is cool again and unbraid it. Comb it with your fingers, and you're good to go.

Tips & Warnings
  • This style also looks good with headbands or pulled back with clips. However, you want to leave at least part of your hair down with this style. Remember, it is meant to be carefree and relaxed; formal styles will not look right.
