Choosing a New Dishwasher

Buying a new dishwasher is a big decision. There are several things to factor in to your decision. Following are tips for deciding which Frigidaire dishwasher features meet your needs so you can choose the best dishwasher model for your home.

Things You'll Need:

    Choosing a Frigidaire Dishwasher

  1. Step 1

Start a list of necessary features your Frigidaire dishwasher must have. Choose a finish that will match your current appliances, such as white, black or stainless steel. Write this down on your paper at the top of your list.

  2. Step 2

Measure your current dishwasher's height and width to determine the correct size you'll need. Write this down on your list after finish, and be sure to note whether you have any "wiggle" room with your dimensions.

  3. Step 3

Decide what features will meet your needs, such as Frigidaire's new SpeedClean with AquaSurge technology, Frigidaire's GraniteGrey interior that is stain-resistant, an ultra-quiet motor, EnergyStar compliant, large capacity, space saver, professional-quality, half load wash option, or filtered wash water. Write down, in order of importance, what features will make your life easier.

  4. Step 4

Choose a price range and write down the minimum and maximum amount you're willing to spend.

  5. Step 5

Take this list to your local appliance store and see which Frigidaire dishwasher model meets your criteria and falls within your price range. If you really need certain features but wrote down a lower price, than you must decide whether to increase your budget or sacrifice certain features to stay within your budget.

Tips & Warnings
  • Frigidaire's new SpeedClean dishwashers allow you to adjust the pressure for washing to allow for different types of loads. If you are upgrading your appliances one at a time, then choose the finish that you want to have, such as stainless steel, even if your current appliances aren't stainless. Soon, you'll have a matching set.
  • If you need to stay within budget, decide which features you can do without, such as a stainless steel interior or professional-grade model, and perhaps choose one with maximum capacity and a quiet motor.
