How to Install Yahoo Multi Messenger

Yahoo! Multi Messenger, also known as Y! Multi Messenger, is a free instant messaging program developed by Yahoo! that allows users to conduct several IM sessions at the same time. Using the regular version of Yahoo! Messenger, users can only instant message with one person at a time. Y! Multi Messenger is also handy for people who have multiple Yahoo! IM accounts, allowing them to have several IM accounts running at the same time.

Instructions

1. Download and install the regular version of Yahoo! Messenger onto your computer if you haven't done so already. The Yahoo! Messenger download can be found at messenger.yahoo.com or by clicking the link in the Resources section.

2. Open a web browser and go to the shareware site Softpedia or Toggle using the link in the Rsesource section. The link will take you to the site's Yahoo! Multi Messenger download page.

3. Click "Download." Choose a mirror site to download the zip file from and click on it.

4. Click "Save." Click "Computer" and double-click on the "C:" drive. Choose "Program Files" and double-click on the "Yahoo!" file. Double-click "Messenger" and click "Save." This step is important; the Multi Messenger program must be saved in the same file as the regular version of Yahoo! Messenger or it will not work.

5. Click "Open" when the download is completed. Click "OK" to allow Winzip to unzip the program file.

6. Double-click on the "Set-Up" file. Click "OK" to open the set-up wizard and begin the program installation.

7. Click "Finish" when the set-up wizard is complete. Yahoo! Multi Messenger is now installed on your computer and will open whenever you use Yahoo! Messenger.

Tips & Warnings

• Yahoo! Multi Messenger will not work on Windows Vista.
