Things You'll Need:
- Glass tile
- Wheeled nipper
- Scorer/Breaker
-
Step 1
Draw your design with a marker on the front of the tile. If the tile has a glossy surface and you make a mistake, it is likely that you can clean the marker off with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. If the tile is porous, use a pencil or chalk so that lines can be erased or washed away.
-
Step 2
Score the surface to be cut. On a flat surface using the Scorer/Breaker, use a metal ruler as a guide to score the line for breaking. With firm even pressure, hold the scoring blade at the edge of the tile and side the tool across the width of the tile.
-
Step 3
Break the tile along the scored edge. With the Scorer/Breaker, place the tile between the pliers along the scored line. With your hand at the back of the tool, apply firm pressure to press the tile against the breaking bar and break the tile on the scored line.
-
Step 4
Use the wheeled nippers to clean up any edges or make small adjustments to the broken edges. Place the tile between the wheels, and with your hands at the back of the handle firmly squeeze the tile to chip off small pieces.
