A sump pump is a must have item for those whose homes are built on low land or areas that receive a lot of precipitation. Unfortunately, they also can be very noisy contraptions.   • Foam insulting tube
  • Knife
  • Sump pump cover
  • Drill
  • Kwik foam

Instructions

  1. Pipe

    • 1

      Locate the discharge pipe. It may be magnifying the sound of the pump by vibrating on a wall or anything else sticking out.

      Cut the foam insulation tube lengthwise with the knife.

    • 3

      Place the insulation tube around the discharge pipe to minimize the contact between the wall or other protrusion and the pipe.

    Pump

    • 4

      Drill holes in the sump pump cover.

    • 5

      Place the sump pump cover into position over the pump.

    • 6

      Insert the nozzle of the Kwik foam container into one of the holes drilled into the pump cover.

    • 7

      Spray the quick foam into the area around the pump. Repeat for each hole drilled.

    • 8

      Allow the Kwik foam to set.
