How to Make a Fujitsu FI-4220C Scanner Work in Vista

The Fujitsu FI-4220C is a color scanner primarily designed for home and small-business use, and has both SCSI-2 and USB interfaces available. While it was originally manufactured and distributed prior to the release of Windows Vista in 2006, it is compatible with the operating system after you download the appropriate driver.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the Fujitsu driver download page (see Resources).

    • 2

Scroll down the page until you find the "FI-4220C listed under the "Model" column.

    • 3

Click on the link to the right of the FI-4220C under the "Win Vista" column (currently labeled "9.18.709").

    • 4

Review the Software License Agreement by clicking on the link under the "Before Downloading" section.

    • 5

Click once on the "Download" link under the "Driver download and installation" section. Prior to downloading, make certain there is enough hard-drive space available on your machine. The driver will occupy about 50 MB, which is small.

    • 6

Click once on the "Save" button to save the driver.

    • 7

Click once on the "Run" button after the download has completed. Follow the installation instructions to install the driver, and then restart your machine.
