How to Remove Skin Tags With Thread
A skin tag is a small flap of skin that can grow on any part of the body. While they aren't dangerous, many people dislike the way they look and seek to remove them. Large skin tags often require a doctor's care for removal, but small skin tags can be removed at home with a piece of thread. If it is done correctly, there will be nothing of the skin tag left behind. If it is done improperly, the skin tag may not be completely removed and can then grow back in the same area.

1
Cut about 10 inches of thread from a thread spool. The thread should be clean so that it won't introduce germs into the small wound left behind by the skin tag removal. Take thread directly off a new spool to ensure that it's clean. Reusing thread or using an old thread may mean that the thread is dirty or dusty.

2
Tie the piece of thread around your skin tag. This must be done at the precise area where the skin tag is attached to the rest of your skin. Tying the thread too high on the skin tag will leave a stump behind. If the thread is tied too high on the skin tag, remove the thread and try again. It may take several tries to get the thread positioned correctly. If the skin tag is in an awkward place for you to see, get someone else to tie the thread.

Tighten the thread and tie two knots on the thread to keep it in place. If the thread is tight enough, it will cut off the blood supply to the skin tag. Cut off any excess thread and leave the thread around the skin tag in place. After a few days, the skin tag will die from a lack of blood and fall off.

Use a pair of nail clippers to cut off the skin tag if it does not fall off or if you don't want to wait for the skin tag to die. Make sure the clippers you use are clean and free of germs. They can be boiled for 10 minutes to kill germs and then used to cut away a small skin tag that has been tied with thread.
