How To Make a CD Envelope
Making a CD envelope is an easy craft project, one that even children can do. It is also a great way to personalize gifts of CDs, and significantly cheaper than buying a CD gift envelope. All you need is some sturdy paper, a ruler and pencil, scissors, glue and whatever embellishments you want.
Things You'll Need
- Sturdy standard size paper (8.5 by 11)
- Scissors
- Glue or glue stick
- Embellishments (optional)
Instructions

1
Lay the paper flat, with any printing facing down. Fold the paper in half, so that you have a 5.5 by 8-inch rectangle.
-
2
Cut about 1 inch off the shorter side of the rectangle, and set this strip aside.
-
-
3
Fold the shorter sides of your rectangle about 0.5 inch, and glue the flaps in place. You should now have a paper envelope that is 5.5 by 6 inches, with one open side.
-
4
Insert the CD into the paper envelope.
-
5
Cut the strip of paper that you set aside earlier in half (5.5 inches in length). Glue this strip over the open end. Add any embellishments or decoration you desire, or tie a ribbon around the sleeve.
