Rewinding the string on your trimmer will allow you to buy the line in a bulk package. Consider doing this yourself for your trimmer rather then buying pre-wound spools, this will not only save you money, but also provide you with enough line to refill it on demand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remove the spool from the trimmer by either pulling it off or pushing down and twisting counterclockwise.

  2. Step 2

Thread the line into the spool. You will see a hole int he center of the spool, place 1 inch of line into this hole to hold the line in place.

  3. Step 3

Wind the string around the spool in a clockwise rotation. Make sure that each row of line is perpendicular to each other. When you start the next layer of line, wind it to be on top of the last row of line that was wound so that it is perpendicular.

  4. Step 4

Continue winding until full and just below the spool flange.

  5. Step 5

Thread the end of the line through the feeder hole on the trimmer and insert the spool by either pushing on, or pushing and turning clockwise. You are now done with rewinding the string head.
