How to Paint Plastic Clip Barrettes

Since plastic clip barrettes only come in solid colors, they could use a little embellishment. Spice them up by adding contrast with 3-D paint. In a matter of minutes and at a very low cost you'll have a unique way to decorate your hair.

• Scribbles 3-D paint or other puff paint
• Work mat or paper

How to Paint a Plastic Clip Barrette

1. 

   Lay your plastic clip barrette on a work mat or a sheet of paper in case you have a slip of the hand with your paint. Your barrette should be clip-side down.

2. 

   Squeeze a dot of Scribble 3-D paint on your barrette.

3. Continue making small dots all over the surface of your plastic clip barrette.

4. Highlight a central feature in the color of your polka dots. I placed a dot of paint over the middle of the plastic bow and spread it around to cover it entirely with the paint bottle's nozzle.

5. 

   Leave your plastic clip barrette out to dry before you adorn your hair.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't worry if you mess up the paint. Keep some wet wipes nearby and wipe your plastic clip barrette clean for a fresh start.
