How to Print Screen Videos

The print screen button on your keyboard is useful to capture screenshots on your computer. Those screenshots are great for tutorials, showing off your desktop or for other uses, but the print screen function can also be used in other ways. By using the SnagIt program, users can now use the print screen button to capture videos of their desktop. The program is easy to use and you can have a whole library and captured footage in no time.

Open the SnagIt program. In most cases, it will already be open in the background, but if it is not, double-click the icon to open the program.

    • 2

Click on the option that says "Record Screen Video." The picture shows a film reel and a fake desktop screen.

    • 3

Choose the input button. "Region" lets you select which part of the screen you want to capture, "Screen" captures the whole desktop, "Active Window" captures the most recently loaded window, and fixed region captures a standard video-sized area.

Select the "Show Cursor" option underneath the input button to show the cursor. Select the "Include Audio" option to include any audio that may be playing on the screen.
