A snakeskin bandana can be a fun and unusual addition to a bandana collection. Learn how to make a snakeskin bandana out of fabric that resembles real snakeskin and add this interesting bandana to your collection.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snakeskin print fabric (see Resources)
  • Iron
  • Sewing machine
  • Sewing notions (thread, pins, scissors)
  • Serger (optional)
  1. Step 1

Visit Discountfabricsusacorp.com (see Resources) and browse their complete selection of different snakeskin prints. Select the fabrics you like and purchase 18-by-18inch samples. These squares of sample fabric are the perfect size for making a bandana.

  2. Step 2

Finish the edges of the fabric square. If you have a serger, serge around all four edges without trimming any fabric off (just finish the edges). If you do not have a serger, zigzag stitch around all four edges with a standard sewing machine.

  3. Step 3

Press the edges under 1/8 of an inch. Pin the pressed and folded edges to secure, if desired.

  4. Step 4

Sew around all four edges of the fabric square. Place your stitching half-way between the folded edge and the raw edge and keep it even and straight around all four edges. Remove pins if necessary.

  5. Step 5

Lay the bandana square out and press it well to make it smooth and crisp.
