Quickly Paper Train Your New Puppy

Tired of Puppy stains all over the house? Paper-training a puppy can be a grueling task for first time dog owners. Whenever a new puppy is introduced to a new home, guidelines and rules must be set. Here you will learn how to quickly and efficiently train your new pooch where to do his dirty work.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Dog Collar
  • Dog Treats
  • Patience
  1. Step 1

Feed your puppy and hold it on your lap for about ten minutes. Then place the dog on a newspaper until it defecates and urinates. When the puppy is finished doing the deed reward him with praise and a treat.

  2. Step 2

If your dog has an accident, lead it to the soiled spot, jerk on the puppy's collar and scold it. Then take it to the paper. DO NOT rub the puppy's nose in the excrement!

  3. Step 3

Always be in control. If the puppy deliberately misses the newspaper by a few inches, it is testing you.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always be sure to give praise and reward the puppy when it uses the paper correctly.
