Witch hazel is a fantastic acne treatment. It is a mild astringent with powerful cleansing properties. Combined with lavender, which is antiseptic and soothing to the skin, an extremely effective natural acne solution is created. This recipe yields approximately eight ounces of witch hazel acne treatment, or enough for approximately 48 treatments.
Pour one cup of witch hazel into a large glass mason jar with lid. Add one tablespoon of dried lavender flowers and 6-8 drops of lavender essential oil to the witch hazel.
2
Place the lid on the witch hazel acne treatment and secure. Store in a cool, dry place, and allow the mixture to steep for two weeks, shaking the jar vigorously ever other day or so.
3
Strain the liquid into a dark colored glass bottle with lid or cork. Discard the lavender flowers in the compost pile or garbage bin. Label the bottle with the contents, replace the lid or cork, and store until ready to use.

To use the witch hazel acne treatment, apply approximately one teaspoon (5 milliliters) to the affected area with a cotton ball. Shake the bottle well before each use, and store in a cool, dry place. No refrigeration is needed.
