Want to remove that unwanted leg hair and underarm hair without having to shave constantly? There is another way!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An epilator
  • Some pain tolerance
  1. Step 1

Take a bath or shower as usual. Exfoliate the area where you plan to remove hair.

  2. Step 2

Make sure the area where you plan to remove the unwanted hair is dry.

  3. Step 3

Make sure the hair you want to remove is an appropriate length (read your epilator instructions). Usually it should be no longer than 1/2 inch long - the minimum length definitely depends on your epilator.

  4. Step 4

Plug in your epilator and hold it perpendicular to your skin on the hair that you want to remove - make sure that your hair and everything else is out of the way. It would be bad to have the epilator grab the hair on your head! Don't push too hard but be sure the epilator is contacting the skin.

  5. Step 5

Go over the unwanted leg hair and underarm hair slowly. You will probably have to go back over the area a couple of times, especially if this is your first time epilating.

  6. Step 6

Moisturize after epilating and keep exfoliating or you could get ingrown hairs.

Tips & Warnings
  • The longer you wait between times to epilate, the less often you'll have to do it because all the hair will have had a chance to grow back and it won't be growing back in cycles. If you epilate often, you'll have to do it more because you won't be getting all the hair from all the hair follicles.
  • Slower epilating speeds are best for finer hair. Most hair can be removed with the fast setting.
  • Epilating does require some pain tolerance. Once you have done it a couple of times, it doesn't hurt as much.
