If your children love Noggin, then they will love the best FREE Noggin Coloring books, printables, worksheets, activity sheets, crafts, and supplemental learning sheets to match their favorite show or characters.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet
  • Printer
  • Recycled Paper
  • Notebook
  • Pens, Pencils, Markers
  • Storage Box or Container to Store Unused Worksheets
  1. Step 1

Type the words "free coloring pages" and your child's favorite Noggin character or TV show's name into a search engine, like Yahoo or Google.

Noggin shows include Franklin, Pinky Dinky Doo, Jack's Big Music Show, Oobi, Toot & Puddles, Little bill, Lazytown, and more.

  2. Step 2

Read the briefs on the sites and the site address. Click on the ones that look like they will have the sheets or Noggin characters and shows that you are trying to find.

Check the quality of the sheets. High quality sheets print better than blurry or fuzzy scans. It might be necessary to actually click on the sheet to see it in print preview to determine the quality, since sometimes shrinking the image to create a button warps it yet the printable is perfect.

  3. Step 3

Save in favorites or Bookmark the sites that offer the best Noggin FREE coloring pages, coloring books, activities, and crafts.

Save the individual sheets or books in a folder on your computer because as the months, years, and shows change sometimes it is hard to find the best quality worksheets on earlier shows.

  4. Step 4

Print out your child's favorite Noggin character printable coloring sheets or the sheets related to a past show or a future show.

These sheets can be used before or after your child watches their show to enhance their learning, memory, understanding, and fine motor skills that they learn from coloring as well as other skills like logic and critical thinking used for matching game worksheets that many of Noggin shows offer for FREE.

  5. Step 5

Print out several copies of the pages and store them in a binder or a storage box so that you will have printables, color sheets, and coloring books ready for the future.

Depending on the child's age, in 1 month, 6 months, or 1 year they will want to do the same coloring page. There skills and coloring level will be vastly differently too. For instance, Franklin content is for younger children while Pinky Dinky Doo is for older children.

  6. Step 6

Encourage your children to trace the coloring pages. This will extend the FREE coloring pages a bit more plus it will teach your children some basic drawing and art skills, as well as shapes and dimension.

Children can learn circles by tracing oobi eyes and they can learn how to draw musical instruments from Jack's Big Music show sheets. Pinky Dinky Doo is an easier character for a child to trace than Franklin, however, most can learn to trace both easily.

  7. Step 7

Trace some of the characters or page backgrounds and then put a custom spin on the page.

If you visit the zoo, you can trace Franklin with the actual animals you saw in the zoo making a custom coloring book for your child. This is sure to be your child's favorite FREE coloring book.

  8. Step 8

If you trace the characters and make your own scenes, photocopy a master template or scan into a computer so that you can reproduce a clean coloring sheet for your child in the future rather than having to print another one all over again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Set your printer to draft or econofast black ink printing when you print your coloring pages, this will save color ink completely and also save on the amount of blank ink used by your printer.
  • Use recycled paper for coloring pages. Most stores sell recycled paper for the same amount as regular paper.
  • Use the back of other scrap papers for printing kids coloring pages and free worksheet to be a little more green and conserve paper.
  • Encourage your children to practice quality and creativity when coloring rather than quantity and rushing which is what public school education tends to foster in certain personalities.
  • Print coloring pages for long car rides, slumber parties, sleep overs, birthday parties, babysitters, and to engage children while you are preparing or cooking dinner if they aren't helping or watching you cook.
  • Encourage children and kids to trace their favorite characters. Encourage teens to trace the pages for smaller children. There artistic abilities will soar to new levels after they trace a few cartoons and become confident in their drawing abilities.
  • Designation a storage box, binder, or bin for new coloring pages and coloring books as well as a binder to collect the completed ones.
  • Children are over-ambitious when asking parents to print out their favorite characters, so make sure to have a place to store the extra sheets.
  • Only give children 1 or 2 pages at a time, or one small coloring book or worksheets so they don't scribble through them.
