Knot Pillow From Fleece

How to make a knot pillow out of fleece. This is super simple and does not require any sewing. Knot pillows are a great way to dress up a bed or couch. You can also use fleece from an old blanket and give it new life.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 (18" X 18") squares of Fleece fabric
  • 1 (16" X 16") Pop-in-Pillow Pre-Made Pillow Form
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

You will need to begin by determining the size of your material. In this instruction I have decided to use a 16 inch pillow so I will cut my fleece in 18 inch squares.

** The squares need to be 2 inches larger than the pillow form you select.

  2. Step 2

Now you will need to lay the two pieces fleece on top of each other.

** If you are using fleece with designs make sure you have the design on the outside during this step as this will be the side that is visible when you are finished.

  3. Step 3

With the two pieces together you will begin cutting each of the four corners out. Measure an inch and a half from the corner and make a cut an inch and a half deep parallel from the edge of the material. Do this again on the other side. This will remove a square section from your material.

  4. Step 4

Now you will need to cut the strips an inch and a half deep and half an inch apart. Continue to make your cuts around the entire square making sure you cut through both layers of fabric. This will give a fringed look to the material.

** Don't worry about being exact just get them as close as you can to the same size and it will look great!

  5. Step 5

Now you will need to begin knotting the strips of material. Just select two strips, one from each piece of material and tie them in double knots. Continue knotting the strips in double knots until you have three sides completed.

** Knotting them in double knots helps keep them from coming undone later.

** Make sure you are using strips that are aligned with the two pieces of material so there are no puckers in your finished knot pillow.

  6. Step 6

Now insert the Pop-In-Pillow Pre-Made Pillow Form between the two pieces of fleece.

** Make sure you take the time to remove any puckers you may have before moving to the next step.

  7. Step 7

Now just knot the remaining strips of fleece, fluff your pillow and you are done!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use any material you would like, however fleece is the easiest as the edges do not fray.
