Things You'll Need:
- Dedication to detail
- Time and attention
- A little discretionary income
-
Step 1
Let's start with the basics...hair and nails. Rich girls don't have split ends, don't have frizz attacks, and don't have jagged cuticles. Get yourself a haircut that is modern and fresh that you can and will take care of daily. Spend the time in the morning with the blow dryer and the straightener. Start taking care of your nails. Rich girls have short, well filed nails painted in light, translucent colors or done in a french manicure. It takes a little time and attention, but you can maintain your hair and nails for very little expense and make a big impact.
-
Step 2
Next, on to your makeup. If you've never developed a skill for it, head to a department store or a Mary Kay consultant and have them sit you down for the tutorial. Learn how to take care of your skin through proper cleansing and moisturizing. Have a professional pick out foundation according to your skin type and shade. Learn how to properly apply makeup and pick shades that work well with your coloring. Buy quality makeup and you'll only need the essentials. Less is more, so sacrifice having a few dozen lip and eye color choices for one or two of each of the perfect products for you.
-
Step 3
And then we come to clothing. Once again, follow the motto of fewer items but better quality. Head to major stores and buy the basic, timeless pieces in sizes that fit you. Take your new purchases to a tailor or seamstress to get the fit just right. Invest in shoe polish, a strand of white pearls, and a classic black handbag. Don't forget outerwear - buy a classic trench and a pea coat to get you through all the seasons in style.
