Clean your LCD, Plasma, and Other Delicate Screens

Plasma, LCD, High Definition, and Anti-glare screens are delicate and can be scratched easily if improperly managed. They are not like glass or plastic they are like the delicate material of a professional camera lens and must be treated as such. From fingerprints to pen marks here are some helpful tips to keep your TV looking like brand new.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microfiber screen cloth
  • water
  1. Step 1

Turn off your TV screen before cleaning. Microfiber screen cloths are especially made for delicate TV screens and camera lenses; and they do an excellent job at removing dust and smudges. You can find a microfiber screen cloth at any electronic store if one did not come with your TV. Remove dust by using a dry microfiber screen cloth and gently wipe the screen with light pressure.

  2. Step 2

To remove smudges, fingerprints, or dirt from the screen dampen the microfiber cloth with water and gently rub onto the stain. Make sure the cloth is lightly damp not wet because water could damage your TV.

  3. Step 3

For ink or stubborn stains make a solution of one part isopropyl alcohol and one part water. Lightly dampen the microfiber cloth with the solution and test a small area on your screen for safety. Rub the damp cloth on the stain until it is removed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid using paper towels, kleenex, and any type of harsh towels because they can scratch your screen.
  • Avoid cleaning products because the chemicals can damage your screen.
