How to Wash BumGenius Cloth Diapers

Properly wash BumGenius cloth diapers to get them clean and help them last longer.

When you're new to cloth, washing cloth diapers for the first time can be a daunting experience. Use these basic instructions to help get your diapers clean and to help keep the diapers from irritating baby's skin.

Things You'll Need

• BumGenius AIO Cloth Diaper
• Laundry Detergent
• Washer
• Dryer

Instructions

1. 

   Remove any inserts from the pocket of the diaper and fasten the laundry tabs on the diaper.

2. Using cold water, run the diapers through either a rinse cycle or a presoak cycle, depending on your washing machine.

3. Using hot water, wash the diapers on a long cycle, using 1/4 to 1/2 of the detergent that you'd normally use.

4. When the cycle is complete, run the diapers through one more rinse cycle to ensure all of the detergent is washed out.

5. Dry on a warm cycle in the dryer. Inserts will take longer to dry, so you can remove the diapers after about 30 minutes and leave the inserts in until they are done. Alternately, you can hang the diapers and inserts on a clothesline outside.

Tips & Warnings

• Wringing out the inserts before putting them into the dryer will shorten your drying time.

• Hanging the diapers in the sun is a great way to remove stubborn stains.

• Do not use fabric softeners on your diapers as it will reduce their absorbency.
