Step 1
When composing articles for the internet, the use of keywords is important. There are several tools on the internet today that can help in identifying keywords, and keyword phrases that directly relate to a specific niche. One of the most popular tools is the “Google Keyword Tool”. It is important to understand, though, that main and secondary keywords are not the only type that assists in the ranking of your web pages in the current world of search engine optimization.
Synonyms also play an essential role in the way that your pages are ranked as well. This is where the “Google Tilde Operator” comes into play. By knowing this, you have already taken the first step to ensuring that your pages are among the top results in search engines. Now, you must learn how to use the “Google Tilde Operator” in order to write in such a way that your content is recognized among popular search engines. -
Step 2
In order to implement the use of the “Google Tilde Operator”, you simply take the tilde symbol on your keyboard and place it in the Google search box on your internet browser. The tilde symbol is represented with the following: ~
-
Step 3
Once you place the tilde symbol (~) in the search engine box, type a word that you are interested in writing about right behind it. See, placing the tilde symbol prior to a word will allow you to discover words that are considered to be “synonyms” by the Google search engine, as well as words that the search engine recognizes are related to the particular keyword that you initially typed in to perform a search on. If you are attempting to use Latent semantic analysis, or latent semantic indexing in order to compose your content, this is a very valuable means of acquiring words to implement throughout the article.
-
Step 4
It is important to remember that when you use the “Google Tilde Operator” that you put the tilde and the actual word right next to each other. There should be no spaces or other letters, numbers, or symbols placed in between. This will render the best results.
-
Step 5
Anyone who has had any basic math course knows and understands the tilde is a symbol that represents similarity. By using this tool, you can quickly discover the top keywords and keyword phrases associated with the niche that you are interested in ranking highly on. Let’s say you type in the following:
~Internet Marketing
You will get results like:
• Search Engine Marketing
• Yahoo! Search Marketing
• AdWords
• Email Marketing
• Website Marketing
If you were composing an article on “Internet Marketing”, you could use the above listed words in order to optimize your content and increase your ranks in among search engines. -
Step 6
If you are implementing the results that you receive based on the “Google Tilde Operator” for the purpose of creating a list of words that you can use for the relevance of latent semantic indexing, or “LSI”, it is important that you include these words in place of your standard keyword of “internet marketing”. You should place your main keyword in the header, in the first paragraph, periodically through the article, and in the last paragraph. You should place the keywords or keyword phrases achieved through the “Google Tilde Operator” every 125 to 300 words past the main keyword. If you implement a secondary keyword, you should follow this same guideline.
Now that you know how to use the Google Tilde Operator and understand the impact that it has on your search engine rank, you can successfully compose a properly internet optimized article!
