This delicious no bake chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookie recipe is easy to make. Since it does not involve the oven and hot cookie sheets, it is especially fun to make with the children on a cold, rainy day.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 1 stick of butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/3 cup of cocoa or 2 squares of baker's unsweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 tsp. of vanilla
  • 1/3 cup of peanut butter
  • 3 cups of oatmeal
  • wax paper
  1. Step 1

On the stove over medium heat, melt a stick of butter or margarine in a pan and then add the 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1/3 cup of cocoa or the 2 squares of baker's chocolate. Stir well and often to avoid having the cookie mixture burn on the bottom of the pan.

  2. Step 2

Bring the mixture to a boil and boil it for one minute.

  3. Step 3

Remove the mixture from the heat source and add 3/4 tsp. of vanilla, 1/3 cup of peanut butter, and 3 cups of oatmeal. Mix well.

  4. Step 4

Lay out a sheet of wax paper on the counter top or on a cookie sheet and drop the mixture by heaping spoon fulls onto the wax paper.

  5. Step 5

Let the no bake chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies cool completely. If you put them on a cookie sheet, you could put them in the refrigerator to help them cool sooner. Once they have fudged, peal them off of the wax paper and enjoy. You can store the cookies in an airtight container.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can replace the peanut butter with soy butter if someone in your home has a peanut allergy.
