Step 1
Passports.
If you plan on leaving the country make sure that you get a passport. Typically you do not have to get one each time before you leave, unless it has been a long time since you have left the country. But if you do have to get a passport before you begin traveling I suggest not waiting till the last minute. Because to leave the country you must have a passport and it would be a shame to miss a cruise because it was the only thing you were missing. -
Step 2
Packing.
Start packing for the cruise a couple of weeks in advance. This way you can add things as you go and if you forget anything you will have time to remember before the cruise sets sail. Pack accordingly to the time of year and the place you are visiting. If you live somewhere cool but are going to the Caribbean, it might be a good idea to start shopping for warmer clothes. Chances are you will be able to get clothes cheaper for your cruise if you live somewhere cold, because it is out of season. -
Step 3
Choosing a cruise.
There are many cruises to choose from, and several of them go to the same destination. But they all offer different activities while you are aboard. For example, a Disney cruise and a Royal Caribbean cruise would be different. While they may go to some of the similar islands, the Disney cruise is the only one that will have Disney characters on the ship. So start looking at all the cruises to your location and see if you find one that meets all of your needs.
