How to Make Biscuits & Gravy from scratch

This is one of my fav comfort foods! My mom used to make it for us, when we were kids - and now it's one of my favorite quick dishes (and super cheap) to make :) It literally takes about 5 minutes to make (it takes longer to cook the biscuits) - and it's absolutely delish! Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Melt 1/2 stick of butter and pull apart into desirable sizes ham - sautee ham in the butter for a few seconds.

    • 2

Add 2 tsp of flour, stir in, and get out the clumps (it's really nasty if you don't get it nice and smooth). At this point you might want to add some salt and pepper to the gravy, to give it a bit more flavor.

    • 3

Stir and add in milk (I use 2%) to thicken, I bring to a quick boil...because I wait until the last minute to cook - if the gravy gets too thick, you may add water to thin out!!

Tips & Warnings

  • Cook your biscuits to a golden brown, tear up, and pour your homemade gravy on top, and enjoy (You might want to salt and pepper to taste).
