Get a Cheap Plane Ticket
Get a Cheap Plane Ticket

Many people pay far to much money for plane tickets. I will explain how to find cheap airfare with the correct use of several well known online travel agents.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • An internet connection
  • Patience
  1. Step 1

The first thing you will need to do is decide exactly when you are going to be traveling and whether or not you can allow for your flight dates to be one or two days off.

  2. Step 2

Then you go to orbitz.com, travelocity.com, and/or cheapo-air.com. You may choose to go to only one of these sights or to check all three depending on how thorough you want to be.

  3. Step 3

You will have to enter into the spaces provided, your name, travel dates, times you would like to fly and how many people will be flying. Then you hit the find tickets button.

  4. Step 4

The next page you are directed to will have a list of available tickets for you. You can also choose whether you want them displayed in order of price, or airline, or time of departure. You will need to sift through these until you find one that works for you.

  5. Step 5

If your travel dates are set in stone and cannot be negotiated this will be the last step for you. Look at the listing of the flight you want and find out what airline it is. Then go to that particular airlines web page and enter in your information. Generally the actual airlines prices are less than the travel agents prices.

  6. Step 6

If your dates of travel are negotiable at all, then you should try entering in different days to travel and compare the prices. Certain days such as Tuesday and Wednesday are generally cheaper due to less air traffic on those days. Once you find the flight you want, you should then go to the airline of the particular flight and see what their prices are.

Tips & Warnings
  • The travel agents are a good way to find initial information but they generally charge an extra fee for themselves when you buy your tickets from them.
  • Double check the dates you have listed to travel before you buy tickets so you don't accidentally use the wrong information.
